- 1 small onion
- ½ pint of milk
- 2 oz. bread crumbs
- 2 peppercorns
- Cut the onion in half
- Put the milk, peppercorns, onion and a pinch of salt into a saucepan and simmer for 2 minutes.
- Strain the pan contents to remove the solids.
- Put the liquid back into the pan and bring to the boil.
- Add the breadcrumbs, slowly, and boil for one minute.
- Remove from the heat, and serve.
